Note: The World Cruise Company went out of business in May of 2000 stranding 161 passengers in Tahiti. The company was created around the idea of offering year-round world cruises where passengers could book entire cruises or just the segments they were interested in. The first ship, the s/s Ocean Explorer I ran into problems during her initial trip and passengers had to be flown home from Europe. The second ship Riveria I left Spain on April 14 and stopped in Panama, Ecuador and Peru before being seized last Tuesday by officials in Tahiti for failure to pay fuel charges from last year.
