MV Wilderness Adventurer Rating: Submit your review here Operator: Alaska's Glacier Bay Tours & Cruises Year Built / Last Refurbished: 1989 / 1998 Length / Tonnage: 157 / 3,000 Number of Cabins / Passengers: 34 / 72 Officers / Crew: American / American Operating Area: Eight Days/Seven Nights, round-trip from Juneau Overview: these ships provide a nice alternative to the larger cruise ships that ply the Alaskan waters each year. Because of their size they can visit a wider variety of places and can quickly move to where the action is. The ships are equipped with stable, two-person kayaks and Zodiac landing craft and guests can embark on kayak trips and shore walks directly from the ship. Leaving from Juneau the MV Wilderness Adventurer visits Glacier Bay National Park, Point Adolphus and Icy Strait, Chichagof and Baranof Islands, Admiralty Island, and Tracy Arm Fjord. Accommodations onboard are comfortable but smaller than those you will find on the larger cruise ships. The level of service and quality of food on board are very good.
