Review by Christopher E. Smith, TravelPage.com, Associate Cruise Editor
Let's welcome the new KATHARINA onto the waterways of Europe. She promises to be an intimate vessel, with plenty of on board space, but with measurements designed to allow her access to the small locks that must be navigated to tie up close to Prague and Berlin. Her cabins, while not of the proportions of those found on the MOZART, will be charmingly appointed and complete with standard river boat amenities....private bathroom with shower, adequate storage space, TV, radio and phone. Of course, all cabins will have a view to the outdoors, and the more expensive cabins on the upper deck will have the popular full length french doors, permitting fresh air for the occupants as they desire.
Ensuring that her food, ambience and quality of service will be up to the strict Deilmann standards, this is one vessel we can recommend before we sail on her. The KATHARINA's first season is set to mimic itineraries offered on the KONIGSTEIN.....seven day trips between Potsdam (Berlin) and Prague, with stops at Wittenberg, Meissen and Dresden, among others.
