Review by Christopher E. Smith, TravelPage.com, Associate Cruise Editor

Overview
If I were a multi millionaire and I could think of 57 people I'd love to have as house guests, I'd pick the delightful KONIGSTEIN for that party. It would be difficult to get anyone to leave their cabins, however, because the accommodations on this intimate river boat are perhaps the best to be found in Europe....large picture windows, nice storage space, functional but petite bathrooms with shower, phone, radio, TV and minibar. By day, the beds convert to sofas, just perfect to plunk oneself during "sea" time.....the passing scenery is worth pressing your nose to the window.

The KONIGSTEIN has a pleasant lounge/bar and adjacent dining room, rooms designed for convivial groups and pleasant conversation. But should conversation stall, again there are those marvelous large windows to enjoy the views. Wonderful food, wonderful service, and attention to detail make the KONIGSTEIN a great way to explore river towns on a seven day cruise from Berlin (Potsdam) to Prague or vice/versa. Either itinerary, be it the southbound trip from Berlin to Prague, or the northbound service, make stops at Magdeburg, city of baroque splendor, Wittenberg, filled with the history of Martin Luther, Meissen, Dresden and Leitmeritz. There are a handful of technical calls and shorter stops at various towns along the way.....some are called at for overnight anchorage while others are used as a departure point for a land tour.
