Overview: we really liked this ship as Holland America's Rotterdam. Boarding her is still like stepping back in time although the recent renovations by Premier to bring her up to compliance with the 1997 SOLAS fire code eliminated some of her former charm. She still has lots of wood and brass but she no longer offers the first class service and food we all grew to appreciate when she sailed for HAL. Her itineraries are still many and varied so if you are looking for a less expensive way to see South America and Europe you might want to check her out.
