Itinerary: Mediterranean

I sailed on the Carousel for my second cruse. This ship is bigger than Sapphire I had my first cruise on. But a fine ship to sail on.

The public area are spacious and plenty of deck-space. The long boat/promenade deck was great for walking around.

The food was superb. I enjoyed the 'healthy choice' each day on the Dinner menu. We enjoyed breakfast on the open upper deck and we enjoyed the buffet lunches. We could eat plenty without feeling bloated.
We find the extra costs of the alcoholic and cold drink to be a little high. These costs can mount up considerably if not careful. We stuck to good old tea and coffee.

Our standard outside cabin was excellent. The cabin steward was very friendly and gave good personal service.

Again, like on sapphire, we did not bother with the shows. We preferred being out on the decks in the fresh sea air.
This time we went to the other end of the MEd and seen quite a bit of italy.
We stayed on board in Civitiveccia. The next day we visited santa Margeurita and Portifino. We visited Florence and the Pisa to see the leaning tower.
We anchored in the bay of Villafranche and visited Nice and Eze and finally we stopped in Spain to see Barcelona and Mont Serrat.
Sadly we were disappointed. being a bigger ship then Sapphire, we found other people were not at all sociable and they just did not want to bother to talk with us.
