Overview
If you want value for your money, then choose Sun Cruises! Don't expect a liner the size or standard of the "QE2" But it's a very good alternative to simply staying a week in one of the Canary islands.

Public Areas
There was three lounges, the Midsummers, The Showboat, and the Carousel, the two lounges in the aft was recently refurbished, and was very nice and comfortable. Bright and friendly colors, tanned leather and so forth. The restaurant was also very nice and had a nice red color scheme. There was a nice walk-around promenade and plenty of outdoor deck space. There was a very small gym, adequate for basic needs. The pool was somewhat small, but was filled with fresh sea water everyday.

Food and Service
There was always plenty of food, and all meals are served both in the dining room and on the lido deck. The midnight buffet was spectacular! The service on board was very good, except for our waiter, he was somewhat intrusive, but we won't hold that against the rest of the staff.

Cabins
Our cabin was one of the cabins that had yet to be renovated, but was nonetheless clean and comfortable. the shower was big enough for a guy 6'6"! and there was lots of drawers as well as a phone. The cabin steward kept it clean and tidy and provided shampoo and other things free of charge. There was plenty of how water! (watch out, as it can be VERY hot)

Entertainment
We saw most of the shows on board, and even if the ship didn't have a real theatre the show team did their best, and they were extremely good singers and dancers. The young dancers and singers joined the passengers in the disco after the shows and we all had a wonderful time.

Activities
There was no babysitting available, but there was entertainment for the kids on board, and lots of it. We went from Tenerife to Lanzarote, Agadir, a day at sea, Madeira, La Palma, Gran Canaria and back to Tenerife. It was a good itinerary, but La Palma could be taken off the trip, a day at sea would have been better. There was plenty of activities and lots to do both ashore and on board. There was plenty to do on board even if the ship is docked.

Who Goes
Most of them were British and Scandinavians, but even German and Italian passengers was on board. We met no Americans or Canadians, but they might have been on anyhow.
