Itinerary: Orient

Overview
We thoroughly enjoyed this cruise and would recommend to anyone wanting a holiday which offers a bit of everything. Don't expect QE2 standards, more basic, clean family run hotel style. Staff deserve medals, constantly surprised at being addressed by name very early in cruise, how do they remember?! Main difficulty was deciding what entertainment to forfeit in order to see fantastic places we visited ie Phi Phi Island, Langkawi, Kuala Lumpa

Public Areas
Public areas were always clean, space sometimes a bit limited but really not a problem. Pool also quite small but mostly only used to cool off anyway. Favourite place was Crows Nest bar which usually had good audience participation shows. Piano bar was nice for pre-dinner drink.

Food and Service
Food was very high standard particularly evening meal. Our waiting staff were gems, anticipated every need before we'd even arrive at table. Nothing was ever too much trouble but this was true of ALL crew on Seawing from cleaners to pursers to officers. Atmosphere so relaxed and friendly, we preferred it to much bigger, "posher" Sunbird.

Cabins
Cabins were small but adequate, used only for getting ready and sleeping so not important, plenty of hanging space and drawers. Showers were good, husband on large size but found showers comfortable, constant hot water. Cabin crew could not be faulted, room was left like building site twice a day and twice a day the cabin fairy would wave magic wand and leave spotless smiling all the while.

Entertainment
Entertainment crew should be on TV. Threw themselves into entertainment with gusto and tried to make sure that every passenger was having a good time. Did not like revue type shows and thought too many of them, would prefer more comedian type shows. Also magician was pretty awful but gave us a laugh being so bad

Activities
Itinerary was good but would have liked to have spent longer time in ports particularly Phi Phi and Langkawi. Also stopped at Singapore (Sentosa amazing place), Phuket, Port Kelang to name a few. At age 10 & 11 kids weren't impressed with kids club as seemed more suitable for 3-8s but thoroughly enjoyed other activities on board (horse racing a particular hit as was Wettest Link). Again, staff knew their names within a few hours of joining ship and ALWAYS made a point of talking to the children.

Who Goes
Good mix of passengers, majority of whom were very friendly which is probably due in part to attitude of Seawing staff. Only fly in ointment was when "lager louts" joined the ship and did best to disrupt enjoyment of other passengers. These were dealt with swiftly and sharply, those that didn't comply with behaviour codes as advised by ship's officers were disembarked at next port of call, watched with relish by remaining passengers! Would definately invite some fellow passengers to dinner.
