Overall I thought the cruise was excellent. The service was just 1st class especially in the el' dorado restaurant. This was my first cruise and I would definitely recommend it.
The pool was quite small but it was called a 'plunge pool' which was just used to cool off or mostly for the kids. During the day you are not on the ship so it was not really a worry. the entertainment in the Clipper Lounge each night was great, most of the entertainers were young and very talented. In the Crows nest there were game shows and quizes on every night and these were a great laugh.
The service was outstanding, the waiters deserve a medal for the excellent job that they do. There was a selection of dishes to choose from for each course and if you didn't like it or wanted extra the staff would do whatever to please. The variety of food served was excellent both on the Riviera deck and in the El 'Dorado Restaurant but out of them both I preferred the El' Dorado restaurant with that extra touch of service.
The cabins were not very spacious but there is plenty of room for all the time is spent there. The bathroom was an adequate size. The only thing I didn't like was the fact my 240v hair dryer didn't work in the 110v US socket even with an adapter but this was easily sorted as you could borrow one from the Pursers Desk. There was enough closet and drawer space for two with room left over.
The Cruise staff were excellent especially the cruise director Rob, he was so funny. The entertainers were very good as well, always trying to make sure everyone was having a great holiday. Paul Madden in the Piano bar was also very entertaining.
The first day of the cruise we sailed all day, so it was mostly just eating, working on the tan and getting to know your way around the ship. We stopped in Iraklion in Crete, Pireaus in Athens, Santorini, Kos and Marmaris in Turkey. The donkey ride to the top of the Mountain in Santorini is a must if you ever go. There was a Gym, Casino, Hairdressing and Beauty Treatment onboard. I'm not sure about child care facilities.
All passengers were really friendly and some of them you got to know really well especially in the El'Dorado restaurant as you sat at the same table each night unless you requested to get moved. You meet so many people as most of them are from the UK you have a lot in common. The scandinavians were a little hard to understand and likewise for them to understand us but we had good fun trying to overcome the language barrier. Yes I have already invited a few great people we meet to come over to Ireland and they have invited me to Yorkshire to visit them.
