Itinerary: Transatlantic

Overview
Excellent value for money. Service exceptional; food first class; cabin quiet and comfortable. The ship is modern and well equipped.

Public Areas
All public areas spotlessly clean. Oklahoma lounge had a very pleasant and intimate atmosphere, with views over the stern. 2 other lounges, several bars and a casino. Several public decks, 2 swimming pools, loads of sun beds. Male & female saunas, gymnasium and beauty salon.

Food and Service
Choice of formal or informal setting for all meals. Lido cafe offers hot dogs, burgers and fries as well as a choice of other self-service meals. Seven Seas restaurant provided a varied menu to suit all tastes. The service was faultless and it was no trouble providing "plain" meals for those who don't like sauces and marinades. Room service was efficient and reasonably priced. Bar prices were similar to British pub charges. Free tea and coffee available 24-hours at the Lido.

Cabins
Superior inside cabin was about 9 feet by fifteen feet; with 2 single beds/settees, dresser, 2 wardrobes, en-suite bathroom with reasonable sized shower, washbasin and w.c. Good lighting, controllable air conditioning, several mirrors and pictures; television showing 3 different feature films every day, telephone ($6 per minute). Soundproofing was very good. The ice bucket was replenished twice a day and there are sodas and bottled water available to purchase. The towels were changed twice a day.

Entertainment
UK passengers would probably rate the entertainment at the same standard as Butlins holiday camps. You need to arrive early to get a seat at the main shows.

Activities
Always something to do on board. This was a repositioning cruise from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean, so there were 6 days at sea, this allowed plenty of time to relax but there was a variety of entertainment as well as dancing, ship tours, shopping, swimming and eating to keep everyone busy. The children's clubs seemed to keep the youngsters occupied - we hardly ever saw or heard any children, although there were quite a few on board.

Who Goes
Passengers represented all age groups and social classes. The ship was at maximum capacity but never seemed crowded. We met new people every day.
