Itinerary: Mediterranean
We went last summer and did a cruise and stay. The first week on the ship was fantastic, we have two boys (10 and 8) and were worried they might be bored. Actually we rarely saw them and could just about manage to get them to change their clothes before they were off again.
The pool area was nice although it could be difficult to get a sun bed by the pool sometimes. It was not noisy with the children and it was clean. I walked through the casino but we did not use it. I must say I enjoyed the gym and treated myself to some beauty treatments.
The food was great and our cabin steward was a god send, he looked after us and the children. The second week was a let down in the hotel.
The bars and restaurants are very comfortable and the decor is lovely.
They rush you through your courses a bit at dinner but then that's to be expected as they have a lot of people to serve.
The cabin was a standard four berth. Although a bit small when we were all in it, it had plenty of cupboard space and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was sufficient, and the shower nice and powerful, although I think two weeks without the luxury of a bath might actually tell on me this time. Our cabin was at the end of a row and very quiet, I think I heard our neighbours the last night for the first time.
We really enjoyed sitting in the piano bar in the evening although we did watch a few shows.
All in all a very relaxing and pleasant holiday for all the family.
We met a couple from Birmingham whose children were grown up. We ended up staying with them the whole week they were lovely. They enjoyed the children's company as well. Mostly everybody was really friendly.
We have booked again this year for two weeks this time and we cannot wait.
