Sunbird is a terrific all rounder, food, entertainment, service, value for money. We had never been on a Cruise before because I was worried about getting Sea Sick, which I didn't at all. Now we are already looking to book a cruise for next year. They call Airtours Cruises 'Budget' well whatever must a Luxury Cruise be like?
Public areas were always clean and bright. It took us a little while to get to know the layout but once we did it was easy. The pool area was always crowded when ship was sailing and people insisted on leaving towels on loungers and then disappearing.
We generally had breakfast and evening meal in the Seven Seas Restaurant and lunch in the Lido. There was always plenty to eat and the Evening menu changed every day. The service was excellent. The waiters were not only professional but very entertaining too.
The Cabin was quite small but we didn't spend much time in there anyway. Our cabins were on B deck so the engine was quite noisy, I am glad we were on the outside so that I could see out of the window and check how near we were to docking. Our cabin steward was really nice, he couldn't have been more helpful and our cabins were kept spotless.
We attended the shows every night and I thoroughly enjoyed them, though my husband and teenage boys weren't as keen. They thought the entertainment was old fashioned and would have liked to see a Cinema on board. Some of the entertainers came back for a second showing, the time might have been better spent putting on a movie.
We took part in several activities on board, there was enough going on so that you would be entertained even if you stayed on board for the whole trip. We visited, Italy, Sicily, Malta, Tunisia and Menorca. We went on two of the excursions which we thought were very expensive and for the remaninig ports we did our own thing which worked out much cheaper and more exciting. You would be advised to listen to the Port Info discussions given day before each docking.
Our fellow passengers were great and we made lots of friends. Most passengers were English and those who weren't generally spoke English well. There was a varied age range of people which was good for everyone. The family we shared a table with every evening were so nice that I hope we keep in touch and they are welcome to come and stay with us.
