Itinerary: Caribbean

Overview
Great time, would love to do it all over again. we thought it would be full of older people. we felt at home.(We're early thirties!!) would go on the same ship but a different itinerary. Met lots of 3rd and 4th time cruises that love this ship. So much to see and do you will never be bored. days at sea are great as you have time to relax and have a snooze on deck.

Public Areas
Apart from the pool deck, the ship (don't forget to call it a ship and not a boat!) was well maintained and very clean throughout. Remembering now, the can-can lounge sometimes smelt a little old. the pool was of need of a clean. But I'm sure they will do it up at the end of the season. The bars were friendly and had a great atmosphere.

Food and Service
What can you say, the food was excellent, such a variety, not too large potions, the buffet looked tasty, however because we ate late(8.30pm) we never took advantage of the midnight buffets. For chocoholics everywhere, the midnight feast once a week, would be a must. the waiters, bar staff etc. were second to none. They could not do enough for you. although a few quibbled about tipping, we thought they deserved all they received from the passengers. The all inclusive drinks deal was worth every penny (well the 1st week anyway, the 2nd week we got a little sick) all the bar staff were always encouraging you to drink more! What a shame.

Cabins
We had an inside cabin on the main deck, where the restaurants and shops are. A window would have been nice, but you spend so little time in there. I would recommend going no lower than the main. A few people we met said it was noisy. The cabins are small, the bathroom just big enough, but it suited us. the room boy makes your bed and sets up the settees for you. Always cleaning.

Entertainment
We don't go for the 'holiday camp style' entertainment, however we did do the bingo once! It's there if you want it. fun if you like that sort of thing or are drunk enough! We enjoyed what we saw. It's not in your face so you can take it or leave it. We were so tired from all the early mornings, that we went to bed before midnight a lot of evenings.

Activities
The ports were mostly great. Grand Cayman is fantastic. We love to scuba dive, so the first week was right up our street, Cozumel, Jamaica, Costa Maya, Havana (not so good), we missed out on one island cause of bad weather. 2nd week was very cultural for us. Panama( bit boring) Cartegena (columbia, unexpectedly good) Costa Rica (wet but on par with Grand Cayman, very eco-friendly and unspoiled) and these small islands off Panama, so bad that I cannot remember their name, rip off merchants, after your money. don't even bother to get off the ship. We did not get involved in the daytime stuff, only went on one organised tour. You find that there are local tour guides when you get off the ship. We found the majority very cheap and helpful. we did our own thing and saved pounds. Be brave and go for it. If you go on the organised trips it is very touristy and you all look like sheep! and americans!!! If you love a quiz and line dancing then hit the pool deck! we found it very entertaining watching.

Who Goes
Everyone goes and has a great time. Hardly any children, my husband loved it when a group a canadian college girls joined our ship the second week! You just have to go with the flow. The first week we only got on very well with two other diners. The others were a little stuck up and boring-they never drunk!! Birthdays and anniversaries are well celebrated on board, the crew sing and make a big fuss. We had 2 birthdays and an anniversary within two days. We would invite some of the people over for dinner, however we exchanged numbers and have not rung. We go on many holidays and find it too difficult to keep in contact with everyone. great time had by all.
