Itinerary: Caribbean - Southern
This is the first cruise for my wife and myself, so we have nothing to compare it with. Suffice to say we celebrated our Silver Wedding Anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The ship was presented very well with excellent staff and we felt that we experienced the holiday of a lifetime. Overall, excellent value for money.
Walk-around promenade came in very useful for morning exercises around the deck and provided shade for people who had had enough of the sun. The pool was a little too small, but even though the ship was fully booked there were few people using it at the same time. Could do with another small pool on the sun deck situated at the stern of the ship.
Food was very good and the service was excellent in the King and I restaurant. Buffet on deck was generally very good and well presented.
We had a standard inside cabin on the promenade deck and were surprised that it looked bigger than the photograph in the brochure. I am a large guy and was able to fit in the excellent hot shower with no problems. The bed was comfortable for my wife and I but could have been a little larger.
Entertainment was excellent with good professional acts. The cruise staff and entertainers were excellent at their job. They were well motivated by Cruise Director, Lesley Spencer.
Embarked at Montego Bay then onto Puerto Limon, Panama Canal, San Blas Islands, Cartagena, Montego Bay, Cozumel, Havana, Grand Cayman, Santiago de Cuba and finally Montego Bay again. The only poor stop was Santiago de Cuba. There was so much to do on board, we wanted for nothing.
Majority aged 35-65 and very decent people, met many people who are now friends and we are staying in contact.
