Itinerary: Baltic/Black Sea/Russia
Considering the cruise is advertised as an affordable yet basic
cruise, we found it had every luxure we desired. The quality of life on
board the ship was super and the relaxed atmosphere only served to enhance
the experience rather than cheapen it.
Public areas were spacious and plush and every room had its
own character, providing an atmosphere for everyone. The level of
cleanliness and repair was fantastic and we felt like royalty wherever we
were on the boat.
The food was too good to be described - words escape me.
With 6 meals a day - should you choose to take them all- you might expect
the quality to suffer but every meal was special. It was great to choose
either an al fresco breakfast and lunch or waiter service in the restaurant
on a daily basis depending on your mood. The waiters themselves made our
holiday what it was. Oleh and Orlando were fantastic! Evening meals were
all prepared to individual requirements and all tasted better than any
restaurant I've ever been in back home. the midnight buffets were a
spectacle to behold every evening - even if you couldn't manage another
morsel!
Whilst compact, cabins were clean and suited the purpose, as they
was so much to do we were rarely in our cabin. the slight hum of the engine
lulled us to sleep and the dressing table and wardrobe provided adequate
storage space. the bathroom was also compact but we found no difficulties
at all. fresh ice everyday and turning beds down at night and making them
the next day made us feel we were getting much more than we had paid for.
The production cast were immensley talented and I found it
hard to believe that shows of such a high caliber could be performed there.
Cabarets were good and alternative entertainment was always offered and was
very funny!
Activities were planned for every minute of every day - docked
or not - and one could choose to participate in a little or as many aas one
liked, without feeling left out if you chose not too. provisions for
children of all ages was fantastic and likewise, activities were provided
for all ages and tastes.
As we had saved up for this cruise for our honeymoon, we were
initially worried that our fellow passengers may be a little highbrow and
snobby - but this simply was not the case. The casual atmosphere helps
break down such barriers and everybody talks to anyone! We met so many
interesting people there - from young couples like ourselves, through young
families to older couples - all up for a good time!
