Itinerary: Caribbean - Western

Overview
Great First Cruise. I will not hesistate to go on another.

Public Areas
The Sundream maybe slightly older than other around and also smaller, but it's #2000 cheaper! Great Cruise and Crew.

Food and Service
The Chefs and Waiters are all Phillipinos except for the Head Chef, who is British. Good quality of food, mainly international, although 1 dish every night is regional (normally a fish dish). The service is slick. waiters polite, friendly and very good. SOme days the queue for the "Lido" Buffet was too long and there was not enough tables. At least eating in the dining room got us out of the sun for 15 minutes! If you can, ask to be sitted at a "Round table" it makes conversation a lot better

Cabins
We had the "Cheap" Cabin. B Deck, inside. Who cares, we only slept and got changed in there, Unless you're going for the suites and other larger cabins, who cares. The showers as previously mentioned by others was small(ish), but we had no major problems. The steward was again, great. made the bed in the morning and turned down the bed in the evening. If you want ice, just ask...or find the large ice container on the cleaners trolley. Forget about buying duty free drinks in the Airport, this can be purchased on the ship. Buy the mixers (tonic water, ginger ale)at every opportunity, including prior to flying out. Every evening my wife and I had a couple of drinks in the cabin, while relaxing. Forget the Travel Iron.. Not allowed. Laundry Service: T-shirts/Shirts #1.80 each Dress Shirts #2.30

Entertainment
We attended the majority of shows. there were reasonable, if you could find a good seat. Remember, first come, first served! Basically, if you want a "West End Show", go to the West End! Disco every night. In fact, there was something for everyone. Think hard about the all inclusive package. You have to drink #15.00 worth of drinks each and every day. My wife and I love our drink, but during the day we mainly drunk Iced water and Iced Tea (Both in plentiful supply (Free) from the Lido deck) Tea and Coffee is also freely available throughout the day. Tinned Beer at #1.95. Cocktails around #3.00. Bottle of house wine #8.95

Activities
This is the only areas that let the ship down. Far too expensive. eg santo Domingo City Tour 3.5 hours #24.00 each. Walk off the ship and get the same tour, for $15.00 or less! Tortola Highlight Tour: #23.00 each.. Outside the ship, $15.00. If it's something unusual eg Stingray City, Tropicana Evening cabaret, then consider using the ship's tours. everyting else...Save your money. Forget your trainers, the Gym has 2 rowing machines, a simple stepper and 2 cycles.

Who Goes
Leave the kids behind; they deserve sea and sand! The main age group on our cruise was between 30 - 50, although there were younger and older passengers there. I would invite the majority home (not all at once!)
