Itinerary: Bahamas
I think Dolphin IV offers a great cruise experience. There were
plenty of activities scheduled that actually took place. The crew and wait
staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. I would have had a great
time except that we went just as Hurricane Dennis was hovering in the area
and it was a physically challenging trip. I would definitely sail the
Dolphin again.
Casino was small but adequate. The disco was comfortable and
music was good although tended to younger crowd tastes (rap and hip hop) at
first, it eventually mellowed and became a nice blend of international and
american music. The ball room was a little large for the number of people
who seemed to use it, but there was plenty of seating. Rear deck and pool
area are quite small.
Food in the dining room was very good. Service was great.
Waiters efficient and made an effort to be entertaining. There was plenty of
food and drink for the buffet service.
We had a cabin that slept three. It was quite comfortable and we
even had a porthole. Bathroom was small but about the size of the other
cruise ship I've been on. Definitely had enough space. Shower was big
enough for a full sized person. Had a hand bar to hold on to.
Entertainment consisted of two comedians, one I saw, okay not great. There was a musical group that was excellent.
We stopped in Freeport, and my group went to the International
Bazaar. Shopkeepers were aggressive but friendly. Somewhat more rustic
than Nassau. Pool was small, I didn't use, because of seasickness. There was
child care available. Beauty shop on board, but beautician unable to do
ethnic hair.
Variety of people from all over. Common bond was queasiness
because of rough waters.
