Itinerary: Caribbean - Southern
Yes, take this ship..it is the best one..the crew is fantastic..the service is attentive and personal .We are friends with our waiter Kelly from Jamaica(MO BAY) for life ..The food is just perfect. I have traveled all of my life and am in the travel industry and this knocked our sox off. If you want glitz go on another line this was pure class. I was treated like a queen for a week. The southern Carib is beautiful...Getting DRESSED UP is part of the old world charm and not seeing people in SHORTS and JEANS in the eating areas at dusk was GREAT. My husband looks AWESOME in HIS own tux. I like getting dressed in a gown and not kmart specials. You will like this trip...Learn to go with the flow and have a great time. Entertainment was fun. On deck activities are cool and there is no body telling you where you are or what will happen next on a loud speaker 24/7. The phones that you can set to record any goings on in your room while you are out is a good feature. The ship is clean. No roaches in the galley or mold in the ice machines as reported in a big old ship soon to make her swan sailing.......The only criticism is the port in P.R. needs to be streamlined at departure. It is crowded and not too well organised when you have actually gotten off the ship. Also the only dangerous thing I encountered was the marble trim on the floor by one of the tables starboard side. I almost fell because it was slippery, very nicely polished but too smooth underfoot......This ship is LOVED by her crew, she is THE favorite.......
Stratosphere Lounge was deserted we had it to ourselves .the stars where beautiful to look at and the drinks where great. The lady bar tender was nice and nobody bothered us .The other lounge was lush and very exotic decor I want the rug!
The service was great. The crew we encountered had our names down pat the first night and we where greeted by SMILES instead of cold indifference. We had a table for two and it was great to be able to have time to ourselves and not be bothered by well meaning strangers .The food was to die for and consistently so .Not one bad bite the whole trip and we tried thing we usually would not have the chance to eat, pate, conk fritters, lobster etc////// etc////Bread sticks where missed when we got home......Food was hot and fresh, correctly cooked and seasoned to perfection. No emergency glasses of water and no spitting stuff out into the napkin because it was too noxious to eat. CELEBRITY is STUPENDOUS......
Our cabin was on Sky Deck 1217 inside, just close enough to the doors to the deck and not too close to noisy elevators. A tip. Our suite cases fit under the bed and in the closet as you use clothing it is good idea to put it away in case to take home as you do not have to spend your last evening doing packing. instead you can be out and doing something fun....Closet space is very good, the loo was great. Shower and all utilities are arranged perfectly. As sailors of a ocean going catamaran we are experienced sailors and had no trouble with minimal motion and no mal de mere the slight occasional motion of the ship was welcome and soothing to us. We slept like children. We got back one unite late and left our stuff around the cabin. We returned later and found all of our clothes neatly folded on the bed and all items accounted for. My husband left his substantial gold chain complete with gold anchor out and it was neatly put out for him to find. Ramon was a dear and a very professional .
We liked all of the entertainment we saw. It was not hokey and brash.
We liked Barbados allot and will fly in sometime in the future. St.Croix was nice place to take catamaran sail. Nice gifts in shops. I like the carved turtles as the island is a nesting hot spot if you are one. St.Thomas was cool. Will go back. Carnival was on and was fun. Antigua was nice shopping and really did not see too much of it. St.Lucia was cool place friendly people and very poor but interesting great bus trip .our guide was neat man with allot of knowledge and pride for his home. Our guide in St.Thomas was MAAAAAHRTINNNNNN and he was the greatest. Go see St. J's beautiful place serens. Megs BAy good swim. Barbados rocks....GREAT Catamaran sail .Spirit of Barbados a must sail. Food -yeah and batik, gold and all manner of gifts. Paintings...Very nice people.
One guest was a college Prof,a doctor a construction worker and insurance people a doctor and his entire family, very well behaved children, another travel agent a acrobat from China. One lady who has been on the celebrity line 20/30 times .Would I like to be her...YEAH MAN.
