Exceptional services in restaurants and cabin. Choice and quality of food equal to great restaurants. For relaxation recommend balcony stateroom as public areas can get crowded and a little noisy at times. One side of ship designated non smoking.
All public areas very clean and comfortable. Pools were always busy hot tubs very popular, but one was still able to relax. Walk around area for Joggers and walkers 12 laps equal one nautical mile. Need to be up and about early to grab a sun lounger in the sun on days at sea. This is not supposed to happen but human nature makes it happen.
Food and Service exceptional. Main restaurant is well served with great menus and attentive knowledgeable staff. We could have been fortunate but I think not, our waiter, asst waitress and wine waiter were all superb, friendly without being obtrusive and very knowledgeable. Midnight buffets on deck were superb the final Gala Buffet in main restaurant had to be seen to be believed. This was truly a food cruise.
We had balcony stateroom. Comfortable but as there were three in cabin we were glad of balcony for relaxation with a glass of wine under the stars. Storage a bit tight when three people involved would be adequate for two. Steward very good cabin was always immaculate when we returned to it. Fresh towels twice a day and cabin food service spot on with no extra charges.
Shows were of a good standard. Entertainment director Nick worked hard and had a good personal show. The singers and dancers performed well especially in their Broadway show. Comedian Benny Mason very good, illusionist average. Plenty of leg room in theatre. Cinema although not visited disappointing regarding films shown.
We visited Rome; Nice; Mykanos; Santorini; Malta; Barcelona; Ville Franche. Malta was weakest POC but some you love some you hate. We did not take tours being independent travellers we like to go where the locals go not the tourists. Activities on board were mainly geared for the younger element.
We met a number of fellow cruisers who had registered with online plus those we met on journey travelling to ship. Everyone was very friendly and respected each others space whilst keeping in contact. Fellow diners in surrounding tables were friendly in greeting one another. All led to a very pleasant holiday which I would recommend to anyone. In fact I would go as far as saying that anyone finding room for criticism regarding the Galaxy and its crew would criticise anything.
