Itinerary: Caribbean - Eastern

Overview
The cruise was very relaxing with lots of friendly passengers. Ship was clean and well kept. Activities and entertainment were geared for the 50's and 60's age group. We went on the cruise to relax and de-stress so this was not a problem for us on this trip, but we would definitely consider a different cruise line next time around.

Public Areas
Public areas were average - not much warmth or glitz. The theatre where all the shows were held was very nice and had excellent seating. No bad sight lines. Bring a sweater to the dining room as it was always very chilly in there. Pools and hot tubs were not too crowded. Very difficult to get lounge chairs next to the pool.

Food and Service
I had heard that Celebrity has a reputation for the absolute best 5 star cuisine. I went on this trip expecting the food to be excellent - unfortunately I was quite disappointed. The food was only average with few choices. Princess has much better food. Service was very good. We really missed having a salad bar at the buffet restaurant.

Cabins
The cabin was small not enough room to move around. Storage space however, was more than adequate. Noise was not a problem - we were in cabin 4167 inside.

Entertainment
Entertainment could definitely use a boost. Shows were ho-hum with a pianist and violinist as the entertainment on two nights - definitely needed. Celebrity singers and dancers were average at best. Entertainment is definitely not Celebrities strong point. Much better entertainment on other cruise lines such as Carnival and Royal Caribbean. The musical group that played by the pool were very good but only played for one and a half hours per day.

Activities
We did the Eastern Caribbean with stops in San Juan, St. Thomas and Nassau. Went sightseeing on our own in each port. We took a ferry from St. Thomas to St. John and snorkeled at Trunk Bay. Very beautiful with lots of fish. Activities on board ship were lacking - not as many things offered as compared to other cruise lines.

Who Goes
Other passengers were very friendly. The majority of the people were in their 50's and 60's so the crowd was much older than I had anticipated and the entertainment and activities were definitely geared towards them. Our dinner mates were great. We have kept in touch and have already gotten together since the cruise.
