Not bad value for the money if you can get a good balcony cabin for 950.00
Most of the public areas remind one of an airport or huge hotel waiting room. No elegant intimate spaces as on Holland America Line.
The food and service in the gargantuan main dining room was at best mediocre . Although not Carnival fans, Carnival food and service was better. Lunch menus were pathetic.
However Olympic restaurant cuisine, service and ambience absolutely unparalleled on the high seas to-day, and well worth the $25.00 gratuity.
Cabin 6143 was perfect .The best value 1C with a teak balcony of 120 square feet and serviced by the staff for the largest penthouse.
The 3 production shows were excellent ,but there was literally no other entertainment.
Food service on Catalina Island was like a scout camp. It time that Monsieur Roux made a surprise visit to check out what Apollo is dishing out to these unsuspecting passengers.
Everyone goes looking for a gourmet food experience on this gigantic floating hotel, but they will be sadly disappointed, unless they reserve all of their dinners in the Olympic Restaurant.Fellow passengers were a broad range of middle America in every age group but average age being 45.
