Overall it was an average but still
enjoyable cruise. Biggest complaint was lack of sun deck and there was not outside food areas. For the price we paid it was a fair deal, but had better on other cruises.
Wheelhouse bar and grill was hot & stuffy while standing in line for food. Not very many waiters around for drink service. The large lounge was nice but the band was lousy and couldn't play a variety of music. The karoke bar was small and packed with teenagers every night so no one else could get in. The main lounge was comfortable and the shows, comedians were very good.
No outside buffet on deck, only in the wheelhouse bar and grill where it was stuffy and very little service. The food was adequate. The 24 hr. pizza and ceaser salad was good. The soft serve ice-cream machine was convenient. The food in the dining room for dinner was pretty good and service was good, although our table was one of the last to be served and we didn't get out until about 9:30 or 10:00 each night.
We had a standard outside cabin. It was nothing fancy, but quite adequate. Bathroom was nicer than others we've cruised. Overall it was comfortable and clean.
The entertainment was about the best part of this ship. The shows were quite good and the comedians were great. We never met any of the staff personally, only introduced in the lounge. They seemed to be good at entertaining and keeping children occupied so as not to interfere with adults aboard.
On board we mostly jogged in the morning or worked out in the very small exercise room. The exercise facility was very inadequate. Then we tried to find deck chairs to lay out, but that was the biggest joke! Not nearly enough sun deck or chairs and people held chairs by leaving towels and then got mad if someone took the chair after they
left for lunch. Played bingo a few times but at $10 a game and within a few minutes it was over, we had to move on. The hot tub in the women's spa didn't work. Childcare was available during the day and evening, except at lunch. And for a price you could have child care in to the later hours of the night. We had friends that brought children and they were very pleased. Our ports of call were Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. This was our third time at these ports but still enjoyed being there. In Jamaica we have been to Dunn River Falls which we enjoyed and spent time at the beaches. In Grand Cayman you have to go to Sting Ray City. It was the best. Cozumel has a great national park where you can snorkel right off the beach or just relax. Drinks and food are available there. It is also the best shopping and fun place to visit.
We went with a group of 20, so we only visited with a few others. We did meet a nice couple that we sat with at a couple of shows and visited out around the pool. They live about 4 hours away from us, but if we were closer, I think we would enjoy their company.
