Overall a great experience. I was with a large group combining a cruise with a conference. It was difficult to plan and manage the conference on this ship, and Carnival was not very helpful. But our our group did have a great time, and most would love to do it again. A good value for the price.
All of the public areas seemed to work well. Very glitzy, like Las Vegas on the water.
The food and service at evening meals in the dining room were excellent. I also liked the Panorama buffet on the Lido deck. The hamburgers and pizza were great too. Room service has a limited menu but the sandwiches were good. If smokers are suing cigarette companies nowadays maybe I could sue Carnival for getting fat!
I have been on the Ecstasy twice, once in a category 6A outside cabin and once in a category 12 suite. Both were great. For me, an inside cabin would be just as good; the inside cabins are mostly the same in size as outside cabins, and I spend so little time in the cabin. Bathrooms and closet space are pretty good too.
The evening Broadway type of production was very good in quality of performance but boring to me in content.
Catalina is nice to see and can be seen in a couple of hours. I suppose Ensenada is nice to see if you have never been to Mexico, but I find other places in Mexico much more interesting.
Lots of diversity on the ship. Young and old, couples and singles, people of all colors, straight and gay, folks in wheelchairs, lots of kids (but fewer during school months), people with different languages, all having a great time.
