We just came off of our cruise and are tremendously disappointed.
One of the engines on the ship broke, and we were unable to reach our
furthest port (it broke the first night of our cruise). Carnival offered the
passengers $20 to enjoy "on them" and 20% off of their next cruise. What a
slap in the face, this does not even cover the port charges for the port we
missed.
The public areas were nice. A lovely library and card room.
Lots of moving around space. The promenade deck had plenty of activity
including the casino. The pool area was very nice.
The food was mediocre as cruises go. Lots of left overs at
the buffets and casserole type meals. Lots of filler type food. The dining
room was better. Service was OK, however, one of the passengers ordered a
second entree and was told that Carnival Policy would not allow a second
entree to be served until the first entree was removed. Waiters were
generally "business only".
Our cabin was average. Our cabin steward was extra-ordinary. Very polite and went out of his way when possible
Mediocre entertainment. One of the shows was cancelled because the entertainer missed his flight and another became ill.
Standard activities. Cruise director was "going through the motions". Staff seemed overwhelmed. The two ports we visited were nice. The shore excursions were rotten. Many customers demanded and were granted
a refund. Golf courses were very poorly maintained and the food served was
horrible.
The passengers were very nice. We made some nice friends.
