Three couples (ages 47-41) thoroughly enjoyed this cruise. Food, service, and shipboard activities were very enjoyable. The cruise director and crew were polite and attentive. The ship itself was well maintained and clean. We would have no reservations about recommending this ship. We went to Freeport and Nassau.
We were very comfortable in all public areas. All lounges had excellent entertainment. The Las Vegas-style shows were excellent with very talented performers. There were smokers on this ship but the ventilation system seemed to take care of the smoke and smell. The hallways by the cabins were the only place where the smokey smell was noticeable and that was usually when a smoker has just walked through. The casino was nice even though we didn't win a fortune! None of us ever went to the pool. Our favorite lounge was the Cats Lounge with Karoke and 60's and 70's music.
The food was very good and beautifully presented. The only complaint we had was that if we wanted two entrees, the first was served and eaten before the second was brought. Our waiter, Surano, and assistant waiter Dagmar were delightful. We were so full from the meals that we did not take advantage of the midnight buffets. The buffets that were served during lunch were delicious and artistically done. We only ate in the Celebration dining room so can't compare it to the Jubilee. One buffet was on the Lido deck and it was good.
We were pleasantly surprised with the size of our cabins (category 6). One member of our party is a large man but he said he had plenty of room in the shower. The closet space was ample. We noticed very little noise and it never interfered with sleeping. The only problem was there was only one 110 outlet in the room. We knew this and took a multi-plug outlet to use.
We went to several shows and thoroughly enjoyed each. The entertainers were very talented and versatile. They were witty during the game shows, as well as good dancers. They wore many hats and did each job with grace and ease. Some of the Fantasy Dancers were Bingo callers! The cruise staff did a good job of directing and assisting. The only complaint we had was that we never saw the captain at the captain's cocktail party and dinner. Maybe he just foots the bill!??
There is something going on at all times and the problem is choosing what to do. The lounges had music for dancing, singing, and karoke. Game shows and audience participation activities were hilarious. There is a library with books as well as games, pools, exercise equipment, saunas, and movies being run for enjoyment in your cabin. A passenger talent show was held on the last night which was particularly enjoyable. We stopped at Freeport and never left the ship. In Nassau we shopped during the morning and took an excursion on the Yellowbird in the afternoon for an afternoon of swimming and snorkeling. We enjoyed both of these activities. The crew on the Yellowbird were very entertaining on the way to the island and on the way back to the ship. We are empty-nesters so never needed babysitting or childcare. Two of us took advantage of the exercise equipment which was well maintained.
We met several nice people but were too busy to get to know them well enough to make lasting friendships. Everyone was friendly and cordial and seemed to be enjoying the cruise. The age range was from infant to 78 years old but there was something was for everyone.
