Overview
We were not overly impressed with the PRIDE. We have been on 3 other Carnival Ships. Yes they try to make sure everyone has a balcony with their stateroom but it limits space to other parts of the ship. If you don't mind limited space but enjoy a balcony its not too bad. We were celebrating our Anniversary. We had a good time despite several problems concerning the air in our room, being billed for something we didn't buy and the limited room on board.

Public Areas
The bars are roomy as any we have been on before. One bar in particular "Beauties" made use of two floors to put the dance floor on other floor, but if you were handicapped you could not get to the dance floor. I talked to a wheelchair bound guest and she felt challenged to get to certain places on the ship and could not reach certain levels without assistance from the crew. There was not much walk around room outside and no place to sit outside but by pools and on the very top level, there were a few benches. The pool areas were crowded and there was no room if they had any events by the pool area. The casino was nice and roomy.

Food and Service
The buffet selections were great. There is only one dining room on the ship, split into two levels. The food was excellent. Our waitress and asst. waiter provided very good service. Eating in the dining rooms is something that everyone should do. You get to try new and very tasty meals.

We also went to the Supper Club, David's. It nice to tell people we went to a five star resturant, but you have to pay $25.00 per person, get only one of each part of the meal, when downstairs, we knew our tablemates were getting nearly the same food and were able to eat as much as they wanted. Its something we won't repeat.

Cabins
We had a inside cabin, at our request. We don't spend enough time in our cabin to need a balcony. The closet space was good and lots of extra drawers. The only real beneift with this type of ship for us, that the beds were in the center of the room, my husband and myself could get out of bed with having to climb over each other or around any cabinets, as with the other Carinval ships we have been on. Very quiet, couldn't hear other rooms.

Entertainment
We enjoyed the shows on the boat except one comedian, he had been on our last cruise and he did the same exact act. Otherwise it was nice.

We were not impressed by the Cruise Director, he told he had been on the ship, for 6 wks, it seemed to us, he was very unexperienced being in his position. He tended to TALK TOO MUCH and repeat the same Information over and over again. Many of my fellow passengers said that he tended to put them asleep.

Activities
We went to 3 new stops and 1 stop we had visited twice before. Key West was nice but offered little in way of tours. We went to Belize next, very nice but limited places to shop.

Cozumel, we highly recommend PASSION ISLAND, well worth the cost. Beautiful beach, meal and alcohol included. Ocean was warm and you could walk way out into the water without going over your head. Progresso/Merida, very nice tour of the city, new stop for Carvinal, they only recommend ONE shop for shopping. But town has walmart, sam's club, McDonalds, etc. Big city type but even on our tour we only got to small places with limited items. They need to improve shopping experience on this stop.

We never went to the spa or gym, but someone told me it was nice. We only had two pools, one pool was closed for work during our cruise.

I went alone on the galley tour, my hubby played bingo instead. The galley tour was not up to expectations, not recommended.

Our last night, I went to the guest talent show, it was great except the cruise director and the band leader rudely made faces and talked among themselves on the back part of the stage while a guest perfomed to the audience. My hubby stayed in the room.

Who Goes
Very good mix of people. All different parts of the country. Alot of retired people, not many kids this cruise. Alot of young adults. Both couples on our table were in the 70's and 80's, retired, living in Florida. Would be happy to invite to our home. The one thing I did notice, that someone had scratched up the mirrors on elevators, during our cruise. Very childish.
