The ports of call were OK except for San Jaun which you don't get into until the evening and there is not a whole lot to do. Also be careful of the excursions you take in Saint Maarten.
Most of the public areas were nice, but the lay out of the ship might confuse some people.
Service and food seems to have gone downhill from past cruises. The wait staff try to hurry you through your meal AND they would take your place settings (silverware ) and return it to the box used for clean silverware. Personally I think if you sit at the table all the items at your place should be washed before given to another cruiser.
The purser and shore excursion staff both are in need of customer service training as their attitude was "do you have to bother me"
Our cabin was great and our cabin stewart did an excellent job keeping it that way. We had ample space for everything to be stored and the shower was big enough for a full size person. Carnival did not have enough soap (liquid ) to refill the dispensers on board so the stewart needed to supply bar soap for the cabins.
Entertainment was the normal cruise entertainment with nothing that really stood out.
If you like noise hang around the pools during the daytime.
Find a quite spot if you want to read or just lay back. A balcony cabin comes in handy for the latter. The pools looked ok but because of rough seas could not be filled.
Many options are available on shore. You arrive almost too late to do anything in San Juan. In Saint Thomas you can shop or take one of many excursions offered or just hire a cab and explore the island with the driver. In Saint Maarten be careful which excursions you select as some are not worth the amount of money that they charge for the excursion.
I spent my week with my family and rarely interacted with other guests.
