This was absolutely the worst vacation of my life. We missed the ship sailing due to weather. We had to pay for 90% of the expenses for catching up to the ship out of our pockets. Once we did catch up with them we were treated extremely poorly by Carnival Staff. We even had to carry our own bags from the motel to the ship, then all the way up to our stateroom.
The ship itself was fine, it was the aloof, "we could care less if you're here or not" attitude from most of the staff that was well below what we had expected.
The food was excellent, we only ate in the main dining room one night but it was fine. The quality of the food in the buffet, and the casual atmosphere made going to the dining room somewhat of a chore not worth doing. Drinks are VERY expensive.
It was microscopic and smelled like sewer gas.
They were fine, but below what we have experienced at all inclusive resorts.
Time off the ship was definitely the best parts of this vacation. If anyone is in Grand Cayman we can highly recommend Capt. Bryan's Sail and Snorkel Adventures. This was the highlight of the trip for us.
Like I said, having missed the sailing we never really felt a part of what was going on. It's like we were always trying to figure everything out for ourselves. We missed all the orientations, and no one from the crew ever offered to help get us acclimated. We didn't even know where the life jackets were until another passenger told us.
