Carnival Cruise Line

MS Carnival Triumph

Itinerary: Caribbean - Eastern

Overview
I just returned from a 7d eastern caribbean aboard the Carnival Triumph. This was my 2nd and last Carnival cruise. They really need to do some serious work on their attitude and actions regarding passenger complaints. They fouled up 3 out of 4 of the times I had dinner in the dinning room, the last time I bit down into a piece of glass. The head waiter and matre 'd response, sorry. That's it. Nothing else, their attitude regarding the repeated mistakes, up to and including the glass incident, said, to me at least, tough luck pal, and they had the gall to still expect a tip! It's too bad, I have discovered a love for cruising, even tho I can't really afford it (I'd go half a dozen times a year if I could !!), and I will be going again but because of this, combined with the under age drinking aboard, not with Carnival.

Public Areas
My cabin was on the lido deck so I was frequently there. It was nice. I liked the tiered arrangement with the stage, and double whirlpools at center.lots of room but very crowded. Lounges aboard were attractive and roomy. Actually, I liked "Windows on the Sea" on the MS. Fantasy better than those aboard Triumph. Pools were too small, too many children. Favorite place the steam sauna and spa. This was a true pleasure. Floor to sealing glass ocean view

Food and Service
Main dinning was a nightmare, see above. Buffet was ok, more morning menu choice would have been nice. No eggs to order for example or waffle maybe.

Cabins
Great cabin. Catagory 10 lido deck near midship.Room enough, with a balcony as well. 3 full floor to ceiling closets(one with safe) plus ample drawer and cabinet space, as well as bath medicine/cosmetics cabinet. I'm over 6' and I had plenty of room in the shower. It was quite up where my cabin was but most certainly not just a couple of decks below.

Entertainment
Entertainment was top notch. My favorites were the audience participation shows, some of the comedians and John the Cruise Director. He was great.

Activities
San Juan was a disappointment. It would have been a nice place to go... during the day. St. Thomas was beautiful. Wish I could have done more, just walked to Cokie Beach, and stayed MUCH longer. Not much to do on St. Croix at least not in Fredrickstead. Beautiful place. Child care was available aboard, as well as organized youth activities.

Who Goes
I'm in my thirties, and personally I believe there was too much disparity in age aboard. I realize Carnival is trying to change their image, but there were still far too many rowdy teens and young twenty somethings. Underage drinking was rampant with uniformed security standing around just watching. The other main segment aboard were mostly 55+ so you can imagine some of the problems.
