Itinerary: Caribbean - Western

Overview
This was my first cruise. I was pleased overall

Public Areas
I liked the piano bar. Islands in the sun and atrium looked kinda dated, though. Carpet color schemes in public areas should be reconsidered. Liked the boiler room decor.

Food and Service
Food and service in riviera dining room was consistently good. Boiler room food was good, too, but sometimes lines were long. Pizza wasn't that good in boiler room. Buffets were very thoughtfully prepared and presented

Cabins
Cabin had 2 twins and a twin that folded out of the wall, if desired. Space was ample. Bathrooms small/utilitarian but ok. Cabin steward made cute little animals out of hand towels for decorations. Nice and quiet, even though near elevator and dining room. Noise was no problem

Entertainment
Attended 2 comedy shows, both very entertaining.( adult comedy). Calypso/raggae band was good. "Mr. Ed" pianist in piano bar was good. There was an oldies rock band in Islands of the Sun that turned out to be more like instrumentals and it was pretty lame, though. Good musicians, but material stank.

Activities
Cozumel- went shopping and snorkeling on our own, not with a a tour or anything. Used facilities at a nearby hotel. I cant remember the name of it. It was about a mile walk from the dock. Bought an underwater camera and got some good pictures of fish. Didn't see any corals down there , though. Walked around the old part of Cozumel for a while, just sightseeing, and down the malecon. About dark we got a cab back to the ship. Overall, it was a pretty relaxing day In Georgetown, Grand Cayman- combination tour to turtle farm and Stingray city, where you can snorkel with sting rays. I had a ball at stingray city, but we didn't stay there long enough for me to be satisfied. I would have liked about another 30 minutes. After tour was over , just walked around Georgetown awhile, but couldn't find anything we really wanted to do there. All i saw were a bunch of jewelers. Cute little town, just nothing that really caught my eye.

Who Goes
We met two very nice Canadian couples from Toronto. Fellow passengers all seemed really nice and well mannered. pretty good mix of old and young folks.
