Itinerary: Caribbean - Eastern

Overview
The Carnival Valor is a very lovely ship. We took this cruise because they offered a special Hitmaker Cruise 2005 with four singing groups from the 1960's. The ship accommodated this all very well. The decor was beautiful.

Public Areas
The ship was laid out pretty good. My only problem was the casino is right in the middle and it seemed like no matter where you wanted to go, you had to go through the casino. The stores were nice, there wasn't a lot but what they had was enough to do some ship shopping to buy those souvenirs! The Java coffee shop was great, we all would met there and have coffee, tea and goodies and talk until very late. We spent a lot of great nights there. We made some great memories in that spot!

Food and Service
The buffets were so much nicer that the sit down dinners. The dinner portions were very small and fancy. The food was OK. The midnight buffet was skimpy, not at all what I expected. I really can't give the food the best rating and again, the portions were for children...not what an adult would enjoy!

Cabins
Our cabin was a nice size, not too crowded. We were on the first deck above the water. The window was a nice size. The only problem that I found was that the bathroom had a urine smell. The cabin maids did come in everyday and clean, but the scent was still there?

Entertainment
The shows were great. We went for the Hitmakers shows but the Carnival shows that were planned were very good!

Activities
On board, I went to the spa and had a wonderful massage, it was one of the best I ever had! I don't like the way the people there try to sell you things after your massage, but that is done on all cruise ships.

We stopped at Nassau (it was during hurricane Wilma) so we couldn't go off the ship, then to St. Thomas where we shopped and then to St. Maarten, more shopping!! All and all, it was a great experience.

Who Goes
We met some of the nicest people on this cruise. Our table mates were terrific and we still stay in touch with them. That also was a great experience!
