Excellent public areas for a smaller ship.
I think it would be hard not to be impressed by the crystal dome disco, or indeed any of the public areas other than the rather small theatre. All other areas however, are spacious, modern and fresh looking, certainly no feelings of claustrophobia on this vessel. Overall I was very impressed.
The food was good and there was a good variety of dishes, no complaints at all. The service in the restaurant was also good although our waiter was somewhat limited in the English language.
Colour coded decks ensure you will not have any problems locating your cabin - even after a few drinks! I stayed in a grade 6 cabin located on Gauguin Deck, a spacious outside cabin. Although only one deck from the bottom there was no problem with noise from the ship, although cabins are not very soundproof. The cabin could sleep up to four passengers with two pullman beds.
I was very pleased with the size of the cabin which had plenty of closet space. The furnishings were modern and clean and nice touches awaited me each evening from the staff. The bathroom was small but functional.
Entertainment was the worst I have experienced at sea and was not at all catered to British taste. However, in their defence I was on the ship whilst it was relocating to its new port and there were only a handful of British on board as the majority of people were mainly Italian, Dutch and Scandinavian.
The fitness centre was great, although I did not participate in any classes the gym had a range of different programmes to cater for all. The pool area was a good size, although weather did not permit me to enjoy it
Europeans; I was surprised at how few British were on board. If you are a P&O-style cruiser, who enjoys the British influence then I would say this cruise is NOT for you. There were a lot (and I mean a lot) of Italian families on board who enjoyed talking loudly and smoking in most areas. be aware there are a lot of announcements in 5/6 different languages depending on your cruise.
I would recommend this ship for anyone who likes the European feel in the stylish modern comfort of a smaller ship with good food. In my opinion the ship is good value for money with some good itineraries.
