The Costa Atlantica is the best cruise ship of the new millenium. It offers great value for cruising in the Caribbeans and in the Mediterranean. It caters well all the categories even the passengers those want a premium product. The prices are far far lower than Princess and Celebrity.
The ship is very colorful but offer a product in true italian style. There are many lounges as winter gardens, the Coral ballroom, the Gran Bar Madama Butterfly,a theater on 3 decks and a large fully equipped casino for gamblers lovers. The most intimate place is the Cafe Florian in true barocchetto style(replica of the famed cafe'of St,Mark's place in Venice). The fitness center is large and offers sauna and roman bath at no extra charge. There are 3 large pools with jacuzzis and a tennis camp. There is no walk-around promenade and the jogging track is limited.
The cuisine is excellent with many typical italian dishes(the menus are the same for the two itineraries in the Caribbeans). The buffets are excellent with Mexican, Spanish, Caribbean specialties. There is also a special restaurant, the Club Atlantica(at extra charge:$15),with menus created by Gualtiero Marchesi. The service is attentive and warm. The room service offers an ample choice.
The cabins are large and equipped with tv,safe, minibar, many with a large private balcony. The bathrooms are also large. The soundproof is excellent. The first category of outiside cabins has obstructed views by the lifeboats.
The shows are very good in typical Broadway style. The entertainment performed by the animation team(in 5 languages)is good. There is always some of interesting to do for all tastes.
The ports are very interesting, particularly the calls in Mexico,Puerto Rico and St.Thomas.The private beach at Catalina island is simply a paradise. For shopping lovers at each port of call there are many opportunities. The lovers of art and archeology should reserve the excursions to Chichen Itza,San Juan and Santo domingo. There are also dedicated activities and spaces for children and teens.
The passengers are international with many Spanish and Italians. There are families, honeymooners, couples and many Costa repeaters.Don't forget that all the activities and the announcements are performed in English, Italian, Spanish, French and Germany.
