Itinerary: Caribbean - Eastern

Overview
Our recent cruise on the Costa Atlantica was the best ever! We selected this trip based on our travel agents recommendation and price. What an excellent vacation value.

The ship was beautiful, food terrific, and staff went out of their way to please us. The only improvement I could ask for was weather. The added Italian style touches made it much better than our previous cruises, pasta stations, pizza, and smiling faces.

Public Areas
The whole ship was immaculate, could not believe 4 years old. Our favorite lounge was the Coral. The pool areas were always full of activity and the lounges full of entertainment. We never ran out of things to do. It was refreshing to see people of all ages just having fun!

Food and Service
I would rate the food as being very good and I, along with my 14 year old are very fussy. My son ate better onboard the Atlantica than I have ever seen him eat. The menus were varied daily and we loved the pasta choices. The Club Atlantica was worth every penny, food, service and atmosphere! And I was glad to see Costa still provides midnight buffets, not that we could eat any more, but they were great to see and of course you could not resist nibbling.

Cabins
Cabin was larger than most and very cheerful. The bathroom and shower more than adequate. Cabin steward also very nice (my son wanted to take him home).

Entertainment
We did nightly shows and found all to be very entertaining! The cruise director was all of the ship and could be found entertaining, mingling among guests, and making sure a great time was had by all!

Activities
Did not need child care or babysitting, but saw the children's club area and it looked really cool. As I said there was always activity in the pool area and in lounges. My son loved the trivia contests. bocce ball, basketball, and horse racing. It was also nice to always be able to find a spot pool side no matter what time of day. Gym equipment the best also. A lot of dancing in the lounges was enjoyed by myself and my husband.

Who Goes
I had heard alot of Europeans book this cruise, but found it not true. The only Europeans we met were actually staff and they were charming! Age was mixed, met alot of nice people and I might invite them to dinner if I could serve meals like Costa did!!! Can't wait to go again next Feb. We choose our cruise not for the destination but the ship itself and I would surely pick the Costa Atlantica again no matter what the ports.
