Date of Trip: February 2, 2000
Itinerary: Mexico - Western
This is a line for people who are put off by the big ship experience; no casino, no formal dinners, just excellent service, pleasant crew, very good food, and the opportunity to get close to the sights. Our captain spent a whole afternoon 'hanging out' looking for whales (in the Sea of Cortez). Ditto for bears on Alaska Cruise!
No pool, and Thank God, no casino either. We swam in the ocean. The public areas are very comfortable
Meals are one sitting (96 passengers); food is excellent, good variety, and if one wanted something not on the menu, it was created for you. Service is very good.
Cabin was small, but adequate; closet space ample, shower tight but not impossible.
No shows, no entertainers. there were programs, but they were more of the informational type
While on board you sight see(on the Alaska trip), or read (on the Sea of Cortez trip); the Alaska trip went up the Inside Passage-many stops, with various trips available; Sea of Cortez trip had beach excursions,a whale watching trip in small boats, and shore trips in La Paz and Loreto.
Passengers run toward the older end of the spectrum; mostly retired people. Some were crashing bores, some were delightful; just like any other group.
