Itinerary: Mediterranean
The MV OCEAN MONARCH under the Golden Star Cruises is really a very nice way to have a 3 or 4 day cruise in the Aegean region. It is one of the last "real" ships you can find and the captain and the crew doing a terrific job to keep her in excellent condition. The Aegean islands is a very nice place to visit especially this period of the year.
Very roomy public areas with nice fittings and decor. The lay out of the ship is very similar with the unforgettable TSS STELLA SOLARIS with the majority of the public rooms located at one deck. There is a walk around promenade at the boat deck but there is no teak wood. The pool and the whirlpool are really nice and enjoyable.
Food is very good and provided by the catering company Ligabue of Italy. The service provided is also very good. There is one dining room and the lido buffet at the pool deck.
The cabins are really surprising with their size and the fact that all have bathrooms equipped with full bathtubs. Very good and adjustable airconditioning.
The entertainment is the usual one provided by the cruise ships in this region. One Greek night and the usual singers, dancers, magician etc.
This itinerary is very intensive with two ports of call almost every day so the activities are limited. The ports of call are, Mykonos, Kusadasi, Patmos, Rodos, Iraklion, Santorini. OCEAN MONARCH has a really interesting Spa facility with very nice treatments.
MAny people from Europe (majority from Spain and France), USA and Canada, Latin America and very few Greeks.
