Holland America Line
MS Noordam
Your Rating: Reviewed by: Tom S.
# previous cruises: 31 to 40
Date of Trip: May 5, 2002
Itinerary: Europe
Even though the ms Noordam is the oldest ship in the fleet, it still has the charm and grandeur of one of the newest ship out there. I think that you should really take advantage of the dining on board, it is excellent!
I think that the public rooms onboard the ms Noordam, are very cozy and luxurious. I really enjoyed the Ocean Bar, where there are usually games of Scategories etc. On the ms Noordam, there IS a wrap around promenade, a precedent on all Holland America Line ships.
The food onboard was comparable to the finest restaurants on land! The dining room atmosphere was one of a candle lit dinner for two. The Lido Bar, has a buffet style breakfast, lunch, and occasionally dinner.
The cabin that I stayed in was very comfortable. It was a Deluxe Outside Double. It was quiet as a hotel room on land. The bathroom amenities were wonderful. My bathroom had a tub/shower. It had two separate closets for ample space.
The shows were very good.
Very interesting port tours given the European itinerary.
Well traveled passengers. Average age seemed to be in the 60's.
