Itinerary: Alaska

Overview
After a 7 day land excursion boarding the ship and enjoying the fine food and wonderful attention by the staff was what was needed. We enjoyed all the port calls and the scenery of the inland passage is fantastic. I was traveling with a family group of 12 that ranged from 9 to 66 and we all had a blast we all want to go back again soon.

Public Areas
The crow's nest a bar on the upper deck was our favorite hang out. We whale watched danced drank and just socialized here most of the trip. The pool was ok and the casino was so so. The evening entertainment was good. We enjoyed getting together in the afternoons in a bar for a trivia match which I must say my group won first prize for the week. This was a most special trip hope to get to go again

Food and Service
Breakfast and midnight was buffet time. Dinner was served with style and the food was good and the menu was different every night they even catered to the kids and had pizza and hamburgers on the menu every night. The fourth of july picnic by the pool was a lot of fun.

Cabins
The cabins were cosy but the closet space was minimal. You could not hang a garment bag in the closet. There were four of us to a room so the space was crowded. The shower was big enough. The rooms were quiet and well kept up by the staff

Entertainment
We attended almost every show. I thought that most of the shows were geared to the seniors in the group but the comedy shows were good

Activities
We boarded at seward and are first stop was Valdez we took a bus into town and shopped not much to do here. Next we went to Sitka were we went to a raptor center and a totem park. Next to Ketchikan where we took a horse drawn tour of the city. In Juneau we took a helicopter ride to a glacier and had lunch at a salon. We shopped til we dropped at all ports and found a lot of neat buys

Who Goes
Most of the passengers were seniors and some seemed to resent the children that we had with us. We met some nice folks at the trivia matches but we made no real friends we were traveling with our own group and sort of stayed by ourselves
