Itinerary: Caribbean Eastern
This was my ninth cruise with Holland America and as always I was
not disappointed. The service was superb and the food was excellent. After
17 cruises I still can be impressed. Has to go right to the top as the best
one so far.
As with all HAL ships the public rooms are very warm and
charming. The Crow's Nest was my favorite for before dinner cocktails and
for late night disco.
The service is undeniably the best on the seas, the
Indonesians are far superior to any other when it comes to service. The
food was excellent, no complaints what so ever.
Compared to other ships that I have been on the cabins are much more
spacious on HAL. There is plenty of closet and drawer space. The bathrooms
are large compared to other lines and have hair dryers in each one. One less
thing to pack.
The entertainment leaves a lot to be desired, it is very
amateur. Much better on RCI. The cruise staff seemed to be invisible
unless they had to host an activity. They could have been a little more
visible and friendly. This has always been a complaint of mine about HAL
but I still keep coming back. Can't beat the way everyone makes you feel so
special.
hey have the usual on board activities as any other line.
Stopped in St. Thomas, St. Croix, Curacao and Nassau. Not on for the ports
the ship is where I want to be, we spent nine days out of thirteen days at
sea....wonderful.
HAL attracts an older crowd, not many children. That's why I
prefer to travel with them. Met some very wonderful people this last trip,
have been in contact with all of them, planning all to meet in February .
