This is a great cruise for the first timer, relaxed and friendly.
My favourite place was the Explorers Lounge where you could listen to classical music whilst indulging in after dinner drinks and eating the most fabulous chocolate.
The promenade was also good. Admirals Lounge with entertainment was OK.
Food in the Dining Room was excellent. Service was good especially in view of the fact that we were sat farthest from the kitchen.
Food in the self-service restaurants was also good. The midnight buffets were OK except for the dessert extravaganza which was delicious.
Having been upgraded we were very satisfied with our cabin. Closet space was good and the shower was excellent.
The cabin was quiet although some of our fellow guests did have complaints about theirs.
Service from the cabin steward was impeccable.
Went to a couple of musical shows which were good. Missed out on the magician and comedian as they were not our cup of tea.
Found my days too packed to get involved in much other than the daily quiz.
Stopped at Juneau where we went on the wildlife tour and saw hump-backed whales feeding - awesome.
Skagway was the most interesting - nice shopping. Did the train ride which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Ketchikan it rained which meant that our float plane excursion was cancelled. However did take the opportunity to look round the city.
Glacier Bay - unbelievable.
Fellow passengers were fine. However being Brits and them being Americans would be difficult to invite them for dinner. However an interesting experience for us limeys.
