Itinerary: Alaska-Inside Passage
This is a cruise most definitely worth doing. It was very relaxing, the scenery was out of this world, and the Holland American employees top notch!
There were public areas to appeal to everyone's taste. There was a casino on the ship, as well as a library where card games were
encouraged.
In the main dining room, the menu was quite varied and very
attractively served. If we had it do over again, we would have eaten ALL
our meals in the dining room and would skip the buffets which seemed to be
repetitious.
We were given a free upgrade to a mini-suite with a private
verandah. We had adequate closet space. The shower was most adequate.
There was also a whirlpool tub. Someone with very long legs would have
trouble being comfortable in it, tho'.
We found our stateroom to be quiet.
We never missed a show. Entertainment was varied and great! We had a great cruise staff and the entertainers were outstanding, along
with their costumes, etc.
We stopped in Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan. The first 2 were great stops with good shore excursions. We were very disappointed in our tour of Ketchikan and the cannery museum. It was over-priced, and we really
saw little of Ketchikan. On a brighter note, shopping in Ketchikan was outstanding!
Our dinner table mates were the greatest! We were at a table for six and we all hit it off beautifully. We still correspond and hope to get
together in the near future in a central location.
