Itinerary: Caribbean
We loved the cruise. We were married on board the Zuiderdam prior to sailing from Fort Lauderdale. They made us feel so special. Our stateroom was very large and more than we expected. The staff went out of their way to make our special day even more special. Carla the social director took pictures on our camera for us that enabled us to email them back to family and friends. The photographers took great pictures of us during the wedding and also during the cruise.
The Crow's nest area was spectacular, it had a great view, comfortable chairs and one night a 50/60's dance..
Overall the food was great.. being married to an Italian, we found the italian night the most disappointing for food. The steaks were great, so were the soups and seafood.. The Odyssey restaurant was worth the extra $20.00 per person, we went twice.. you have to try the gran marnier chocolate volcano cake.. too die for.!!!!!!!!!!
Our cabin:
We had a deluxe veranda suite, it was so large and luxurious. A small round table and two chairs on the balcony for romantic breakfasts, together with two chairs and foot stools.. The bathroom was HUGE.. double sinks, jazucci tub, separate shower stall.. Lots of storage space, two chairs and a sofa bed to sit on.
We did not like the shows, found them lacking to Vegas style shows we expected. The combination magician/comedian was very good.
Pool area was great.. we kept to the lido pool mid ship rather than the one in the aft.. it was more noisy.
Disappointed in Key West.. not what we thought it would be.. more tacky t-shirt shops that we needed.. Cozumel had great shopping, but thought the pricing was expensive.. same with the Cayman's... thought there would be more bargain.
We found our table mates nice, but not that interesting.. we had better luck in random selections at lunch.
