Itinerary: Europe
I was on the cruise supporting a man with physical and learning disabilities. We found the ship itself to be quite comfortable and the staff in the restaurants , bars where very accommodating. especially Anka in the bounty lounge , Osman in the beachcomber and Krasimar our cabin steward.
We found easy access to most areas on the ship except for the pool , the wall around the pool prevented my friend going swimming . Also the sun loungers surrounding the pool where all occupied before 10am most mornings, usually by towels, which is quite strange as I do not recall meeting any german people aboard the ship.
We tried all 3 restaurants on the ship. BEACHCOMBER = the atmosphere was very friendly, the food fantastic and the service was excellent, no complaints there. ISLAND= We had a waiter service meal here , again friendly service, nice food and accommodating. OASIS = Not very impressed with this restaurant , food not cooked to liking, staff seemed miserable.
Our cabins where on level 4 , My friends cabin was adapted and suited his needs perfectly. My own cabin was ideal, both cabins where cleaned and beds made daily by Krasimar. I found we had plenty of room, for clothes etc. Very little noise.
We spent a lot of time in the bounty lounge , as there was a nice atmosphere in there and again the bar staff and waitresses where always cheerful and accommodating. The group Gabors band where excellent. We were all delighted that the Ocean theatre had facilities for us all the watch the england games and are grateful for this provision.
Not many of the excursions where suitable for people using wheelchairs as most used coaches with stairs. However we managed to get out and about to visit places on foot or via a taxi. We stopped at Malta, Naples, Livorno, Toulon and Mahon. We even managed to have a swim in the Med, while at Mahon
We met a few nice people aboard , Elaine and Brian from Scotland were fantastic , and Mary and Jack who live near chester where also lovely.
