Itinerary: Mediterranean
The itinerary -- the Greek Islands -- was good. The Perla cruise ship was a dirty, tub that smelled of diesel fuel throughout the entire trip. The bed sheets were thin with holes, the mirror at the cabin entrance was cracked and a clothes hook was missing. In every port the crew were busy painting over rust spots on the hull.
The service crew followed us around saying, "drinks, drinks".
The windows were so filthy you could not see thru them.
The entire ship, towels, bed linens and air smelled of diesel fuel.
Buffet by the pool was the best of a poor choice. At least there you could sort thru the crud presented as food. Dining room staff did not understand English very well and were most interested in selling drinks.
Cabin was old, tired with faded coverlets, thin sheets, a cracked mirror, missing clothes hook, very little closet space and generally resembled a cold water back alley flat.
Entertainment was better at summer camp when I was ten years old. Obviously, Louis Lines saves a bundle with no-talent has-beens and wannabes..
Pool was small, no babysitting, missing shuffleboard equipment.
The shore trips were the only break from this horrible ship.
We all could not wait to get off this dirty, smelly tub. Our tour director said, "the Mediterranean/Aegean is where cruise ships go to die". She was right. The Perla is dead in the water. DO NOT TAKE THIS SHIP!
