Itinerary: Mediterranean
My wife and I sailed on the Melody for our honeymoon during July of
1997. On the cruise we visited the most beautiful places in the world on a very nice cruise ship of the MSC, the Melody. For a vacation other then usual, take a cruise for you and your family.
The public areas onboard of the Melody are nice and everything on the ship was clean although the casino wasn't on my side (no winnings), but there was nothing that me and my wife disliked, every night, we drank a cocktail in the club universe and danced. During the day you could take a dive in the pool which was very cool wen the temperature was high.
The walk-around promenade was nice for the view, and everywhere
you looked you saw happy people.
The food was very good and tasted very good. You could eat whatever you liked and there was enough for everyone, the people were very nice and friendly at the buffets and in the dinning-rooms.
My wife and I had a cabin on the Continental deck (cabin 112) which was a outside cabin. There was plenty of room for both of us, and there was even room for a third person, there wasn't much noise in the cabin so you could sleep very well there. The bathroom was big so you could take for example a shower with two persons at the same time.
Every night we watched a show in Club Universe, with a nice cocktail and other passengers. I would rate the quality of the staff and entertainers with a 8, because the costumes used where very beautiful and the staff did everything to make your holiday a party.
The ship stopped at: Capri - Palermo - Tunisia - Ibiza - Mallorca - Barcelona and back to Genoa.
All these places were beautiful, and nice people to. On board we looked at the different harbours and lay in the sun for a couple of hours, we also had a good time with the staff for entertaining people with games at the pool and on the deck.
We met a family from Bergharen (Holland)which is 30 km from Arnhem, we still remain in contact with them and we visit each other about 2 times a month. They were sitting at the same table at dinner, and we went to Ibiza and Mallorca together.
