Itinerary: Mediterranean
It was my first cruise. I want to go on a cruise again, because i liked the ship, the crew, the people.... I can resume a cruise to: Go to lots of diferent places and stay in the same hotel.
I think the public areas are good, you can always find a quite corner to read you book or stay in the pool area and learn how to Mambo or Cha-cha-cha. Club Universe is where all the best shows happen. You can go to the cinema, to the Blue Riband Bar, Junkanoo to dance a little.
The Restaurant as 2 sittings at dinner one at 19.00 and another at 21.00. Lunch is from 11.30 to 13.45 in the restaurant and same hour at the Satelitte Cafe with self service. I think the food was exceptionnaly good, italian style. I was really surprised with the quality of the food, because its probably not an easy task to cook for 1500 people. You have different plates to choose and if you dont like it, you can always ask for something else. The midnight buffet was always different each day.
I got cabin B34, it was an inside cabin in the bahamas deck. It was a nice cabin with a bathtub, good closet space. Fresh fruit everyday. Bath toals and pool toals changed everyday. Any problem, dont be afraid to ask for help to your steward, he/she is glad to help. My cabin steward Hubert was the best.
I think they have a great entertainment crew. Everyday they have new things for you. Gymnastic and learning dances at the pool. Games. Miss and Mister Melody, I just loved this show. They are always calling passengers to enter in the games and contests. You can always win a free drink or a bag.
The ports we stoped were:
Genoa: I just saw the genoa aquarium, its a good place to go with the kids. Since it was the port where I check in, I didnt went on an excursion.
Naples: We went on our own, just walking in the town and eating the REAL Pizza that was invented in Naples.
Malta: We went on the "Beach Excursion" its in a resort, it was good to relax. Dont be late to the bus, cause the Melody doesnt wait for you.
Tunis: We went on the "Shopping excursion", we got a great guide SAMI. we went to the souks in the Medina and then to Sidi Bou Said. It is not advise to go alone.
Ibiza: Its a long walk from the port the the center. you can purchase a shuttle for 5 Euro. We rented a car for 70 Euros in Avis and went to San Antonio to see the famous sunset in Cafe del Mar, it is great to see all kinds of people arriving to the beach, wait to the sunset and them aplause....Just in Ibiza !!, for dinner in the Old Marina where everybody is, and at night too, well Ibiza at night is all what you have heard and more !!!! We left the car near Melody and the next day we went to the beach in "Salinas" white sand, blue ocean, nice temperature....
St Tropez: If you want to go to the beach, its better to go on an excursion. Dont forget to go to the Marina at night and walk aroud the small streets behind the marina, it has lots of shops there to see or buy.
A negative side of this cruise were the pools and the jacuzzis: There are 2 swimming pools and 2 jacuzzis, well when you look to the jacuzzi with all that people in and out I didnt have the courage to use it. The pools have lots and lots of adults and kids. In my opinion if the ship as 2 swimming pools I think the best was to use one for adults and one to the teens.
About the elevators, well you will use your legs a lot, but after all that food, I think its a good thing....
Well there was a good mix. English, German, Italian, Spanish but in my cruise there were a lot of people from Malta (i think they are Maltese, sorry for my bad english). To tell the truth I didnt see any drunk people, as sometimes I read in some reviews. Lots of children, some did a lot of noise, well not all the time. But in the overall I think that it was a cruise with people on vacation, enjoying their vacations.
