Cruising is great, however not on the Melody. We found the food to be tasteless, and the service was very uncaring, when you have to ask for water and beverages. The only thing we were completely satisfied with was our cabin steward, AGUNG, cabin B38. In addition, get another cruise director, he's not very good, and quite standoffish. The Matre'd never greeted us, or other people around us.When leaving the dining room he would turn his back to people.
The main lounge was way too cold. There was no walkaround promenade. People should be made aware of the fact that the pool contains SALT WATER. Regarding the casino, it was very disturbing trying to play the slots and having ten to fifteen year old boys smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages along side, also playing the slots.
The food and service left a lot to be desired, having to ask for service of water and beverages. The waiter was very slow. We only went to the buffet a few times, because the food was always the same.
The cabin was the best thing on the ship. There was plenty of space in the closet, and a full sized person could fit in the shower easily. The only noise we heard was the drone of the motors, however it was not offensive.
We attended every show. Four stars to the band, the black female singer was terrific. The cruise director left a lot to be desired. Some of the acts were very dated, left over from the 30's & 40's.We got tired of hearing every announcement given in 6 DIFFERENT languages.
There wasn't enough craft offered.
Most of the other passengers would never be invited to our home, as they didn't speak any English, it's too difficult to communicate with someone who doesn't understand what you're saying. Many failed to make an effort to communicate with you.
