Itinerary: Scandinavia
The overall cruise was mediocre and our cabin left much to be desired. When we boarded there was a strong smell of paint and the hot water came out of the cold-water tap. The bed linens and the blankets had seen better days. Also, the walls were peeling and the carpeting was worn. We had an outside on a lower deck. The shows were very amateurish.
We certainly didn't like the enclosed promenade deck because there was no place to sit. They had some ice cream parlor chairs near the ice cream counter. The outside boat deck had no lounge chairs and was used for a jogging track. The only chairs were on the sun deck in the sun.
The food was so-so. The service was very good. The buffet on deck was poorly organized. We ate lunch in the dining room most of the time.
There was barely enough closet space. The shower was fine. We found the cabin to be quiet.
The shows were poor compared to Holland America and princess. The cruise staffs did their best and were very competent.
We took shore excursions in every port and were satisfied with the shore excursions with the exception of one in Holland. We stopped at Gothenburg, Oslo, Bergen, Molde, Le Havre and Amsterdam.
We were seated with very congenial people at our table. We would enjoy meeting them again some day.
