Before you get on a cruise, you should research the ship. The Norway is still decorated in 60s colors. It is in need of a major interior face lift. When we cruised, the first day we got on, one of the pools was closed for painting. There was paint peeling off in some parts of the ship. The lifeboats looked as if they had been bruised up a bit.
Don't go in the public lounge if you are not a smoker. You will be passed out from the smell. Pool was always crowded, hard to find a place to sit.
Food was not very special, but the service was outstanding. The lunch buffet was not very good. And they only serve ice cream 2 hours a day. The line was 2 miles long. I didn't even attempt any.
Our cabin always smelled like pipe smoke. You could hear every time our neighbor flushed his toilet. Tight shower. Next to disco, a few doors down, got to go to sleep to loud beat.
The entertainment was great, excellent, superb.
Stopped at St. Thomas, St. Maartin, and Norwegians Private Island. We snorkeled and shopped. The health club seemed to be old and small. Pool was small. Child care was available to those who needed it, but we did not.
The people we ate dinner with every night were great. I wish we exchanged addresses or emails, because I would love to go on a cruise with them again. They truly made it a enjoyable experience.
