Itinerary: Transatlantic
The Norway was a beautiful ship, and still looking at it in the
water is lovely. However, NCL is certainly lowering their standards, and not
only was the ship in horrible repair, it smelled bad, the food was a 2- a
least, and overall the attitude of the staff was poor. I think it would be
better to put her to rest, than to use and abuse what once was a great ship.
Public areas...poor. There really is no where to go sit and
just enjoy yourself. Everything is a bar or casino. There even put all the
deck chairs away a night, so there is no where to sit.
The food was mixed. Never ate on deck....looked like a
military mess hall. Although the service in the dining room was good, the
carpet, chairs, etc were dirty, and if it had not been for our great table
mates, it would have been really bad. Oh, they don't have steak knives on
this ship. So they say they have been trying to get them...bring your own.
We had a suite. It was big, wall the wall windows. Would not have
survived without it.and a small three drawer stand for clothing. Not to good for a
16 day cruise.
Went a couple of times, but left. It was soooooo hot, it was
impossible to enjoy.
Health club was good. They seemed to have a decent child's
program, most of the time we went to the art auctions. It certainly was
better than making silk ribbon bracelets.
Mixed....most people were very disappointed...it was not the great
ship anymore.
